NIce butterfly very pretty, But I think the background is far to detailed and bussy, making it distracting to the eye, and parts on the wings seem a lil washed out from the sun... Dont take offense please...

Well I like the composition...and the background does not bother me because all the elements seems to play together in the same plane....and I like it because it forms a colorful collection of forms and shapes....my only observations...the higlights are a little "washed" and lack detail...you have to be careful to choose the exposure to be sure that the higlights are not overexposed...because otherwise you only see a white spot....I may have cropped some at the bottom...to direcy the atention more to the butterfly...you have a good eye to choose your subjects..well done Alexia.....juts keep trying and take several photos with differrent speed to be sure you higlights are not washed...

thx, inabottle and Madanapale. This photo is special for me, because its the first photo a take to an animal. I did 9 photos to the butterfly , and this shot is the best.

sorry for my english :(
(El fondo esta asi , por que la mariposa no paraba de moverse, y yo tambien me estaba moviendome para hacerla)

I like the shot, A little brightness and contrast adjustment might help with the slightly washed out look. good overall. a hard subject to capture.

OK Alexia...don't get mad at me...I am just trying to help...here is what I do...I use full manual....set my F to 8 if I want a good depth of field....and then I adjust the speed so the higlights won't be washed......if the subject is moving I try to focus around the place it maybe seating,....and press my shutter halfway down to be ready to shoot when I need!!!

You've captued a beautiful butterfly here. They can be difficult to approach. My congratulations. You must watch your exposure though. Try using exposure bracketing if your camera has that feature. Also, I think if you had rotated this a bit and gave the butterfly a bit of a diagonal perspective, it would improve composition.

Keep experimenting. Good work

Pretty good but it's a little overexposed.
